Event Regulation Course

Competition Categories Refers to the official competitive classes within each age division

All qualifying rounds will take place on Friday and Saturday, May 1–2, with the top athletes in each category advancing to the finals on Sunday, May 3, held on the main stage of Bimba Open 2026. All athletes and coaches are required to complete the free online regulations course to ensure full understanding of the competition categories, rules, and scoring system. This requirement is essential to prevent misunderstandings and to guarantee a fair, transparent, and consistent competition. If a category does not reach the minimum of four (4) athletes, participants may be reassigned to the closest compatible age category, always prioritizing athlete safety and competitive fairness.

Children's Categorie

The evaluation and format of children's competitions follow a system different from the adult categories, focusing on pedagogy, safety, and the developmental level of children and adolescents. Participation Fee €35 – (official T-shirt not included, mandatory to wear) The child’s registration fee includes free entry for 1 accompanying adult on Sunday at the Black Box – Fat Cat -ehem Gasteig (starting at 10:00).

Youth Categorie

The Youth category follows the same technical system as the adult categories, but with an adapted rhythm and control to ensure athlete safety and progressive development. Participation Fee (Official T-shirt not included – mandatory to wear) - (€50 until March 5) - (€60 until April 5) - €80 on the day of the event only if spots are available – not guaranteed

Adult Amateur Categories

(Level 1: 20-30 years) & (Level 2:30-40 years)

Adult Amateur – Level 1 & Level 2 Adult Amateur Level 1 and Level 2 are very similar categories. The main difference between them is the age range defined for each level. The Adult Amateur category represents the transition between the Junior level and the Professional Adult level. It maintains a high technical standard while focusing on the athlete’s safe and progressive development. The Professional category represents the highest level of the competition, with a focus on high-performance technical execution, strategy, and sports exchange between athletes from different organizations. Female Categories D&C - Male Categories A&B

  • Special Matched Fights

    The male and female Bimba Open champions will earn the right to a special matched fight. There will be no traditional matched fights. These bouts will take place in a finals-style format on the main stage, including the possibility of facing a champion from another organization or federation to promote sports exchange and integration.

  • Female Categories

    (Female Athletes Category D): Instrutora or Professora Estagiária — minimum 12 years of proven practice (Female Athetes Category C): Professora, Contra-Mestra, or Mestranda — minimum 20 years of proven practice

  • Male Categories

    (Male Athletes Category B): Instrutor or Professor Estagiário — minimum 12 years of proven practice (Male Athletes Category A): Professor, Contra-Mestre, or Mestrando — minimum 20 years of proven practice

  • Rhythms

    1 game of São Bento Pequeno - 1 game of São Bento Grande de Angola- 1 game of São Bento Grande da Regional

  • Rounds

    3 rounds of 70 seconds 1-minute interval between rounds

  • Solo Matches (1 vs 1)

    Held exclusively on the main stage during the finals, with special attention to audience engagement and event organization. Solo time: 25 seconds
